Whether you’re new to our school or a longtime Whittle Springs Middle School family, we want to provide the resources you need to achieve success.

Enrollment

Whittle Springs Middle School serves students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Students who are zoned for Whittle Springs Middle School and attended a Knox County elementary school for 5th grade are automatically enrolled.

Enrollment for students who are new to the districts must be completed in person by a parent or legal guardian.

Daily Schedule

At Whittle Springs Middle School, the school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. on regular school days.

On early release days, school will dismiss at 12:00 p.m. and will not serve lunch.

Students must attend for at least 3.5 hours to be counted present for the day.

The entire staff of Whittle Springs Middle School is committed to establishing an atmosphere in which children will feel safe, secure, and happy so they maximize their opportunities to learn and achieve. The school has trained counselors and social workers on staff.

Athletics, Clubs, and Arts

Learning doesn't stop when the school day ends. Whittle Springs Middle School offers a variety of after-school and extracurricular activities—including athletics, clubs, and performing/visual arts—that give students the chance to build new skills, connect with peers, and explore personal interests.

Library / Media Center

Our library is a hub for student learning, reading, and discovery. In addition to the school library, teachers may maintain individual collections of age-appropriate books in their classrooms to support literacy and foster a love of reading.

As a United Way Community School, Whittle Springs Middle supports students, educators, families, and neighbors through a range of services. Contributions to United Way make this work possible, providing meals for families, enrichment for students, resources for educators, and community events that bring people together.
